Hello, my name is Brad Crossley.
I am a proud father of four: Alexis, Haley, Brett and Brady – living in Cole Harbour Nova Scotia. I am a career Physical Education Teacher with the Halifax Regional School Board. I’ve been involved in athletics all my life playing elite level Hockey and Lacrosse as well as Volleyball, Basketball, and Rugby throughout my teenage years. After playing hockey for Dalhousie University I started competing in Olympic Distance and Ironman Triathlons (4) as well as road racing from 10k’s to Marathons. I’ve been committed to personal health and fitness for as long as I can remember and get great satisfaction in helping others improve their lives and reach their goals as well.
In recent years I’ve started participating in ultra-distance and extreme self-supported races running 50k’s and completing the Tour Divide Mountain Bike Race in 2014 riding 4403 kms from Banff Alberta across the Great Divide to the Mexican border. With the support of family, friends, and community partners I was able to raise almost $27,000 for the Children’s Wish Foundation of Nova Scotia and Autism Nova Scotia. I uontinue to train for health, fitness, and personal challenge while pursuing opportunities to participate in further long-distance adventures.
In 2017, I was a racer in the 7040 km Trans Am Bike Race. I used this adventure to raise awareness of issues surrounding childhood obesity and raise funds to support the health, fitness and weight management of children through IWK Health Center programs alongside my daughter Alexis. Our success resulted from our planning and preparation and your interest in and support of our adventure. This was a life-changing moment for us and many others following our journey.
This year, 2019, I set out with the goal of finished in less than 30 days. Yikes!
